Portland Alumni Fundraiser HUGE Success!

Thank you to all who came to the College Revival Fund Fundraiser Sunday
afternoon.  It was awesome to see so many generations of Antiochians
together in one room!

We had a wonderful turn-out - many who RSVP’d and many who heard about the
event by word-of-mouth.  We had 50+ Antiochians from every decade from the
1940s to 2000!

Thanks to the generosity of several donors, the Portland Alumni were able to
raise - drum roll please - $24,200 in cash and pledges!  Congratulations!

In the next week, we will be following up with those of you who signed-up to
help and with those of you whose pledge sheets we’re still counting on!
Portland has a 30% alumni giving rate - let’s bump it up to 50%!

The next event is scheduled for Sunday, August 19th from 4-6 p.m. at the
home of Bonnie Messinger and Steve Mullinax.

The Portland Antioch Alumni Chapter proudly announces it’s first official Alumni event. A fundraising party in downtown Portland will be held at Jax Restaurant, 826 SW 2nd Ave on Sunday, July 22nd from 4-6pm. We encourage Alumni from all generations to come discuss the future of Antioch and donate to the Revival fund.

Please contact kristiketchum for more information.

Portland Alumni meeting 6/28/07

On very short notice, a group of 11 alumni met on 6/28/07 in Portland. Alumni graduating from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s were in attendance. The group expressed disbelief over the closing announcement and frustration at the lack of alumni ultilization to keep the college afloat. Alumni discussed ways to prevent the college from closing and how Portland Alumni could support an autonomous Antioch College. Ideas to help increase enrollment and retention were also discussed. A core group of alumni are planning a fundraising event for later this month. Stay tuned to this website for details or subscribe to the Portland listserv to have announcements emailed directly to you about local events.
